about the voyage with 170 other women and her marriage and life with
Matthew Butt (Susan (2), 1836). Their descendants (family names: Downie,
Ayliffe, Collins, Greber, Parker, Bennis, Odgers, Bevan, Southon, Woolley,
Jackson, Ireland, Richmond, George, Malcolm, Wright, Montgomery) still live in
the Newcastle district.

17 female convicts were assigned to the Australian Agricultural Company from
1825 onwards. Hear about the background of the Company and the lives of the
women who tell their own history using AI technology for their native accents.

Felonious Females Episode 6 – Sophia Lovell
Sophia Lovell arrived aboard the Diana in 1833. She married fellow convict Alexander Munro and both became well-respected members of their local community. Alexander became the first mayor of Singleton, and with Sophia by his side, hosted many important visiting dignitaries.

Felonious Females Episode 7 – Molly Morgan
Three times married & twice transported, Molly Morgan led an
adventurous life both in England & the Colony of New South Wales. She
helped those she could & endeared herself to many people throughout
her life. Her memory lives on in the Hunter Valley through place names
such as Mount Molly Morgan, Molly Morgan Vineyard, Molly Morgan
Drive & the Molly Morgan Motor Inn. Dr Jude Conway relates her life

Felonious Females Episode 8 – Margaret McGreavy
A woman of spirit whose life was well documented through official
sources, Margaret rose from her beginnings as a convict to become a
pioneer of Newcastle’s East End & grandmother to a well-known
parliamentarian. Hear her interesting story related by Mel Woodford.
